Minimum wage for seafarers

A new law recently proposed by the government which is supposed to ensure that shipworkers are paid properly amounts to little more than tinkering at the edges.

Reasonable detriment

In cases of prejudice, workers only have to show that they reasonably believed they had been wronged, according to a recent decision by the appeal tribunal.

Wrong comparators

Tribunals must always ensure that they take into account all differences when considering who should be included in a like for like comparability exercise.
