The UK’s union body is calling on the government to provide greater legal protection for workers who have been very ill as a result of the recent health crisis.

Awarding compensation

Although workers can claim redress in the event that they succeed with their tribunal claim, that does not mean that tribunals are always obliged to award it.

Overarching contracts

The Court of Appeal has confirmed that, in order to claim the status of worker under the law, individuals do not have to carry out a minimum amount of work.
