A senior solicitor, working out of Thompsons Solicitors' Leeds office, Joanne has more than 20 years’ experience of pursuing personal injury claims on behalf of clients across Yorkshire and Humberside.
Qualifying as a solicitor in 1997, Joanne joined the firm the next year and, initially, took on criminal law cases. Soon, however, Joanne moved into the personal injury area and has dealt with hundreds of cases over that time. Skilled at pursuing even the most complex and challenging cases, Joanne has a track record of gaining the best possible outcome for her clients.
Friendly and effective, Joanne will handle all industrial disease and accident claims, from work-related upper limb disorders, vibration white finger, repetitive strain injury, noise-induced hearing loss, carpal tunnel syndrome, crush and orthopaedic injuries, dermatitis, stress cases and amputations. Joanne is also experienced in the psychiatric consequences of traumatic accidents, including road traffic and marine claims.
A determined champion of her clients, Joanne’s longest-running case of a nasty maritime accident involved complicated legal arguments as to which country’s laws applied and which contracts of which shipping lines were appropriate. The case was opened in 1996. Joanne took it over soon after she joined the firm and unrelentingly pursued it, successfully concluding it in 2005.
Joanne values the fact that, at Thompsons, she has access to the best medical advice and opinion to secure the maximum amount of compensation for her clients.
