Toby joined Thompsons Solicitors in 2006 as a law costs administrator having started his legal career with the Crown Prosecution Service.
After gaining several years’ experience with the costs team, Toby qualified as a costs lawyer in 2013 and has since become a senior costs lawyer and is team supervisor for the London costs team.
Toby manages a varied caseload, with a particular specialism in clinical negligence, serious and catastrophic injury, group litigation and solicitor and client costs.
Toby has assisted and advised in various high-profile matters including the blacklisting litigation, claims involving the negligent surgeon Ian Paterson and in relation to the Grenfell Tower Fire. In addition Toby has conducted costs proceedings in the Supreme Court.
Toby regularly attends costs and case management conferences and advises in relation to funding and client deduction matters.
Away from work, Toby takes a keen interest in issues relating to equality, diversity and inclusivity, is a member of his local running and kayaking clubs and marshals races within his local community.
